“Older dogs for older people,” a phrase dubbed by someone that had adopted one of our middle-aged dogs for his farm in West Virginia, certainly stuck. This gentleman was older and single and didn’t want to get involved with another human companion so after living alone for several years he decided to get one of our older dogs. Being with this dog for only a few months he suggested we retire our dogs with other individuals like himself. Well, the rest is history!
While working for us on the farm and in our goose control businesses they become part of our family, truly a member of our family. In a few cases, with space limitations inside our homes we decide to place some of these sweet and loving dogs in other homes to finish out their lives.
This has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Our Border Collies are so giving, smart and thoughtful with such incredible talent that we decided these attributes shouldn’t be wasted. During their older years, while maybe not as spry as they once were, Kuykendall’s Border Collies can still give so much to individuals and families. They have been therapy for the heart and soul to so many.

MaryLee Howes - Good for you!! I'm 82. Just lost my last BC at 16 1/2 yrs old. I'm lost without her. About time someone placed a retired dog with retired person!
